"Dancing with Nature" was our first project and one of the most remarkable initiatives by the Aitodreamers. It was a youth exchange program that brought together sustainability, art, and nature in a journey filled with learning and creativity. Our goal was to provide participants with the opportunity to connect with the natural environment, understand the importance of protecting it, and express themselves creatively through nature-inspired activities.
About the project
Starting point
The program lasted for nine days and hosted young people from various European countries, such as Spain, Italy, Slovakia, and Lithuania, in Messolonghi. Participants had the chance to explore the natural beauty of the area, collaborate with the local community, and engage in creative activities promoting sustainability and artistic expression. Throughout the program, participants took part in a variety of activities, such as beach clean-ups, nature tours, and artistic workshops. One of the program’s highlights was the visit to the Ancient Theater of Plevrona, where young people participated in theater workshops, learning how to link nature with art and cultural heritage.
"Dancing with Nature" was not just a youth exchange program, but a unique experience that combined personal growth, creativity, and interaction with the natural environment. The participants left with new friendships, unforgettable experiences, and a deeper understanding of the importance of protecting the environment and cultural heritage. As our first program, "Dancing with Nature" was truly a journey of discovery and empowerment for everyone involved, laying the foundation for the future of Aitodreamers.
Support
The program was co-funded by the Erasmus+ program of the European Union and the Youth and Lifelong Learning Foundation (INEDIVIM). Thanks to the support of these organizations, we were able to provide young people with a unique experience of learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Participants also visited local museums, such as the Salt Museum, where they learned about the history and culture of the area while collaborating with local artists to create works inspired by nature and the local culture. These activities strengthened the sense of community and gave the young people the opportunity to understand the importance of preserving natural and cultural wealth.
Another significant aspect of the program was the beach clean-up activity at Tourlida. Participants worked together to clean the beach, contributing practically to the preservation of the natural environment. This activity not only taught them the importance of sustainability but also brought them closer as a team, fostering solidarity and cooperation.
